Wayne Musgrave

Wayne MusgraveWayne Musgrave, a gifted musician and composer, is Chief Musicologist and a founding partner of Nuphonics™.  He has spent his life creating and presenting music within the entertainment business, the commercial markets, and the healthcare industry. His unique and diverse professional experience provides the framework for Nuphonics™ music and sound products today.

In the Entertainment Business
As a young boy, Wayne spent most of his summer days at Disneyland, and was greatly influenced by the popular and talented musicians who performed there. He became friendly with many of these swing and jazz era bandleaders, and was directly tutored by Lionel Hampton, Harry James, Buddy Rich, and Count Basie. At the age of 17, Wayne began his professional career as a keyboard player and RCA recording artist.   He performed with many top billboard artists including Loggins & Messina, the Steve Miller Band, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Seals & Crofts.

In the Commercial Markets
In 1980, he resigned from his touring career and started a career writing musical scores.  Wayne wrote scores for the BBC and Nature (PBS) channels.  He was awarded two gold records and one platinum record for the film scores he created for sports films.

In the Healthcare Industry
In 1985, Wayne shifted his talent towards the healthcare industry and was hired by a regional medical center as the musicologist for their behavioral medicine department. For the next 7 years, Wayne treated over 800 patients with his unique form of music therapy and was greatly effective in his personalized approach to music and sound therapy, research, and testing.

Of Personal Interest
Wayne is a first degree black belt in the UFAF and trained with Chuck Norris.  Subsequently, he was casted as a “bad guy” stunt man in Walker, Texas Ranger and can be seen on many of the 1980 episodes (suffering defeat time after time!).
Wayne has always marveled at the gift of flight.  As a creator, he would often compose the “sounds of flight” into his music.  Hence, Wayne trained for many years to become a Master Falconer, and lives his dream of flying by means of this proxy activity.
His leisure pursuits include building stained glass windows, creating art with both pencil and ink, studying the behavioral sciences, and connecting with the many different friends he has associated with throughout the years.
